Thanks to all those who came out last night for the party at Poor Richard’s. We’ll have some photos of be-costumed nerds to share with you soon.
As for the book: I loved it. The ending was nigh-perfect, I thought, and the characterizations that tied up the loose ends were brilliant. I cried. (I’m sort of a gina.) It is bloody as all get out, though, and even I, who secretly wished for all sorts of character deaths so that I could be allowed to cry, was surprised. Rumors of an eighth, extra-materials book aside, I’m sad that it’s over. No more of the saga to look forward to.
Follow this link to a video of Rowling reading at the London Natural History Museum last night—but duh, spoiler warning, as she’s obviously reading the first chapter of the book.
