You’ll notice that’s one piece of meat on a tortilla (take note, Joe Coleman)! It’s from an amazing taco stand in the Condesa neighborhood called El Califa.
This is the stuff they give you put on top of it in quantities of your choosing:

This is cheese-fried nopales (cactus):

I’m sure it’ll come as a huge shock that Mexican food in Mexico is more delicious than Mexican food in Colorado Springs. Not to rub it in, but …

How did you take these photos? Did you find your camera? Or are they from your mind?
I made a camera out of a old sombrero I found in the street!
I use those as a toilet!
I am way way jealous and you are rubbing it in. I don’t believe there IS any real mexican food in the Springs - or maybe in the US.. I lived for a year outside of the old town section of Puerto vallarta — in a little jungle town up river where the quarter mile walk to our home was kilt with bananas and Mangos and star fruit and pineapple and bugambillas and more. Mangos off the tree are a fruitnot even dreamt of in the US. The everyday vendors, family business serving the best food I have ever eaten, …. I am way jealous and man do I want to go back for the food — and the people — and the beauty — and the simplicity — and the music — yes, I loved it. ENJOY!!!
I do appreciate some of the good Carnicerias here in town — try the one off of Pikes Peak, vlose to Academy. yum.
try El Ranchito #3 at Monterey and Circle. No ingles spoken there, gringo
Hablo espanol, amigo.
I’ll try it — but everyone who has told me to try something has been wrong so far… you know? REAL mexican cheese only, mexican flour, mexican seasonings, mexican meat — no preservatives… fresh veggies and fruit? it’s hard to do in America. But thanks.
