Battlestar Galactica returns this Friday (and you can get caught up here), but first, let’s take a look at the promo photo for the fourth and final season, which is clearly based on, uh, that one famous painting by that one guy. Michael Garman?
Observations:
1) From the left in the original painting, there are two groups of three. The space between Tigh and Apollo (along with the total number of people and with a missing third to the triptych) suggests the mystery Cylon will occupy the place of Judas Iscariot.
2) The Chief holds the knife, as does Peter, except that the knife is pointed toward Jesus/Number Six.
3) Admiral Adama occupies the place of Simon the Zealot but is ignored by everyone else at the table. Is the other Six pointing to him?
4) It’s amazing that I’ve ever had even a little bit of sex.
Any other thoughts, geeks?
UPDATE:
Some sleuthing on my part revealed who the last Cylon is. Behold:

Aaron, I’ll sleep with anyone who wants to discuss the daVinci Code. That book was SO GOOD!!!!!
I know! I love the part where Dan Brown was like, “This is totally historically accurate,” and then historians are like, “Uh, no it’s not,” and then Audrey Tatou was all, “My English is not so good,” and then Tom Hank’s mullet was like, “Achey breaky, fool!” and the Catholic Church was all, “Snaps.” Man, great times.
I don’t think the other Six is pointing at Adama. I think she is either pointing at the Caprica Six or at Chief. (I actually named my car after Chief because it’s blocky, white and has a near permanent five o’clock shadow, ’cause I rarely wash it.)
Is Baltar supposed to be Mary Magdalene?
in reference to the update:
Well, Kara Thrace’s special apocalypse is coming so it stands to reason the all the major players would be at the table.
Perfect. That’s Baltar’s imaginary six.
I don’t think the pointer is a six at all. Is that a three? Who the fuck IS that?
Hmm. The Mythic Six vs. the Historical Caprica Six. I feel a History Channel documentary coming on…
The pointer is most definitely a Six from later in the series.
If you are not sure watch this:

It’s funny too!
