I usually visit Todd twice a week, for a period of about five hours a day. The room that we sit in during our visit is similar to a school cafeteria—fluorescent lighting, cramped wooden tables, and an abundance of vending machine food. The only entertainment provided is a single chess board (which is usually checked out pretty quickly) some kids’ games, a deck of cards and several Bibles. We occasionally play chess, but a lot of the time we spend together is filled with drawing. Here’s a collage I made of some of the stuff Todd has drawn during our visits.
