… when your inmates die in holding cells.
The male inmate, who was not identified Monday afternoon, was at the Terry R. Harris Judicial Complex, 270 S. Tejon St., either awaiting a court hearing or having returned from one, said sheriff’s Sgt. Jeanette Whitney.
In addition to not identifying the man, Whitney said she could not comment on a possible cause of death or why the inmate was in custody.

“The inmate who died while in custody of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has been identified as Bruce Howard, 67.
Howard collapsed in a holding cell at the courthouse about 12:40 p.m. Monday while awaiting a court appearance, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.”
