Sure, Blagojevich blah blah blah corruption blah blah blah Jesse Jackson candidate number 5 blah blah blah. I know it’s all very exciting to dredge up our tired memories of Windy City politics and to speculate on the extent of Obama’s involvement and the ensuing impact it has on his credibility, but have we lost sight of likening him to another, more noble Illionois politician-turned-president whose zeitgeist predates all these shenanigans?
Good, I thought so. Go read up on the latter, specifically on a duel he almost fought with a political rival in a pit on an island in the Mississippi with cavalry broadswords.

While it does seem that Blagojevich has some dirty laundry, I find it curious that he did not get arrested until THE DAY AFTER HE WENT UP AGAINST BANK OF AMERICA.
He’s no more corrupt than any other politician. Tab’s are kept by the FBI on ALL politicians just for this reason. To keep them on a leash.
He’s just being gently “corrected” for his little transgression on Monday.
Want more? Check this out. Guess who wrote this?:
“Not only did the Bush administration do nothing to protect consumers, it embarked on an aggressive and unprecedented campaign to prevent states from protecting their residents from the very problems to which the federal government was turning a blind eye.”
“When history tells the story of the subprime lending crisis and recounts its devastating effects on the lives of so many innocent homeowners, the Bush administration will not be judged favorably.”
- Eliot Spitzer, just one month before being outed by the New York Times for patronizing the Emperors Club VIP.
He was EXTREMELY unpopular with banks.
