TO MAKE THE MOST OF A RECESSION PERIOD AND TOUGH ECOMONIC TIMES

A HARD NEWS STORY - BUSINESS AND ECONOMY

We all want to experience some fun stuff for ourselves: going to a Broncos game live at Invesco Field at Mile High, go to a strip club, mall crawling, buy goodies on EBay, and lots more. However negative shit can interfere with a good time. For the stores we go to, we don’t have any money to help support its economy. We get money from going to work, but recession keeps us from paying rent and bills, and having money left over for fun. Economic downfall and recession period keeps us from enjoying life to the fullest. What is even worse is the high price in apartment rent: the tenant is the one paying full price for monthly rent, and no money is left over afterwards for that tenant to have fun.

However, there is a solution to the problem, and that is sharing an apartment. It makes the most of a recession period, and there is money left over to spend at fun places, which then helps with economic recovery. Those statistics need to increase, so businesses and jobs and thrive more than ever. The instructions are easy to follow when applying for an apartment and paying rent.

MAKING THE MOST OF A RECESSION PERIOD

In a nasty-ass recession we are in, when tenants pay their share of the rent, it saves them money; how is that making the most of a recession?

Jennifer Dorsey is the apartment manager, and Shakeema Mike is the assistant manager, at the Arbor Pointe Apartments in South Colorado Springs. Shakeema responds, “when you split the amount of rent by number of people, you included, there would be more money put aside for fun.”[1]

“Money is saved when splitting the rent rather than being the one paying full price for rent,” Dorsey adds, “however, you have to find someone who will pull their weight around.” [2] In other words, find someone who will pay his or her share of the rent, help out with the cleaning of the apartment, and just be a team player in the process.

AFTER RENT IS PAID, MORE MONEY FOR YOU TO HAVE FUN

When they have saved money on rent, there would be money left over to spend at bars, shopping malls, buy Broncos memorabilia, and other cool pastimes – and that would be good for the economy that is facing harsh times. What is Dorsey’s response to how to fight a harsh economic crisis?

“Every individual has different monetary needs and wants,” Dorsey adds, “it also depends on the apartment and how many people occupy it.” [3] “An example would be: in a one bedroom apartment, 2 to 3 people occupy it; in a two bedroom, 4 to 5 people live in it.

Nonetheless, as Dorsey replies, “it helps people save money on living expenses, so people can have money left over to enjoy the fun stuff in life.” [4]

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

At the Arbor Pointe, there is one group of people sharing a two-bedroom apartment, and each roommate pays their share of the rent. How come other people – in other unit in the same or different apartment complexes – are not saving money by sharing a place? There is a very few people who are sharing an apartment, and roomies paying their share of the rent. Why that statistic?

“People do not want to compromise, and would rather have it their way,” Dorsey adds, “if you want to watch television, and your roommate wants to study, there would be conflicts of interests.” [5] So as Dorsey suggests, find someone who is compatible, and who is a team player.

HOW SAVING MONEY ON RENT WORKS

Look at how many bedrooms needed, figure out how much rent is at an apartment complex, divide that by the amount of people (you included), and that is how much each of you will pay each month.

Example would be for a one-bedroom at Arbor Pointe Apartments – the cost of rent for a one-bedroom apartment is 395; you and your girlfriend occupy that apartment, so you divide the rent by two; your half would be $197.50, and she pays her half of $197.50.

Dorsey suggest that payment arrangement, “your roommate or two gives you – the original tenant – their share of the rent, you then only purchase one money order, and you give the money order to me.” [6] Before they can share an apartment with you, Dorsey also suggests, “when applying for apartment, there are separate applications for an apartment unit, but we write down add a roommate to separate applications.” [7]
