so my buddy bunter joined facebook two weeks ago and as of 1pm today, he’s got two hundred forty three friends. we have nineteen in common. he’s a cat. an experiment in social networking? a comment on the absurdity of facebook? i guess i’m just a cat person.

Who is this cat? I have not responded to his friend request but we have 73 friends in common. People daily inquire as to his/her/its identity.
It’s like Banksy for facebook!
nice one, Mr. Finn!
There’s so much I could say, but I won’t, because it all pretty much speaks for itself.
three hours later and he’s got 255 friends. that’s twelve more than before, or a new friend every fifteen minutes. at this rate he’ll have twenty-four thousand friends by the end of the year. drew will no doubt give a proper figure based on exponential growth and accounting for an estimated number of people in the population who’d decline to be friends with a cat…dog people that is.
Aha! Bunter is still in my undecided box- I was all set to ask some of his facebook friends who are my facebook friends who on earth he was. I don’t just add people willy nilly. But now you’ve said he’s your cat, I am much more inclined to add him.
i didn’t say he was *MY* cat. he’s *A* cat. and now he’s my facebook friend. i think i detect more than a little bit of anti-cat discrimination on your part lobelia. what do you have against cats? is he not good enough for you? i bet if he were a dog, you’d have added him already.
i think i now understand buntor’s point in joining facebook: it’s to expose the essential injustices of the dog-cat conflict. why is it that the media establishment always tries to suppress the cat cultural perspective? why is it the united states always sides with dogs? why do US presidents always seem to keep dogs?
ever since bretton woods, cats have been excluded from the mainstream of society, denied the opportunities and comforts offered to other pets, and systematically exploited to the benefit of larger mammals.
think about it.
Former President George W. Bush had a black cat named India. India died a few days before Bush left office.
as though anything gwbush did should be considered exemplary. he was prolly instructed to adopt a cat by his handlers to hoodwink the leftist insurgency.
I like cats! I’m just chronically allergic to them and they seem to sense this as they bound on to my lap and stick their bottoms in the general direction of my face. But if I wasn’t allergic, I’d probably have a rescued one.
So if this isn’t your cat, who is this cat’s human?
Cats like phish.
