You know how you looooved the 1992 movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer, starring Kristy Swanson? And hated the seven years of the series that followed it which turned what should have been a lighthearted romp into a unnecessarily involved and dramatic program with overly complex characters and storylines that actually sorta made sense? Totally bogus, right? The movie was sooo much better!

Well, you’ve got your chance to get it again: they’re relaunching the Buffy movie line, and big stupid dummy Joss Whedon is not going to have anything to do with it. Rather, it’s the people who funded the original movie and retain the rights to Buffy, Kuzui Entertainment, who’ll be making this surefire masterpiece. I love Hollywood!

Remains to be seen what the weather’s gonna be like over the weekend, but what better way to spend Memorial Day weekend than in a forest (or a foret) listenin’ to music and totally drinking beer and stuff?

Getcher tickets here.

He was indicted today for 20 counts of felony theft. Still the trail, right, but we hate to say we told ya so.

Nonprophet is reporting that, according to reliable sources, Ted Haggard is set to start another church in the summer of 2009.

We’ll see what form that new church takes—and I’m still crossing my fingers but not holding my breath for a gay-friendly evangelical movement spearheaded by Haggard—but if not, this news just goes to show that Haggard is just pathologically incapable of staying out of the limelight. Must! Have! Attention!

In case you were living under a particularly deep stone and weren’t aware, here’s me informing you about Meadowgrass, which is going on this weekend at La Foret. Yee!

There’s a huge-ass lineup of local faves, plus you get to camp and hang out with all your friends and drink Bristol beer and, if you were so inclined, take off your shirt. Why not, right? There is nothing not awesome about that. And you’re in the woods! No one except everyone else at Meadowgrass will see! The point is, you should go here to get the tickets, then you should make the 10-minute drive to La Foret, and then you should take off your shirt. When else will you have that opportunity? Never. That’s when. Just do what I say.

So, good news: Midwest Teen Sex Show, one of my very favorite podcasts, is comin’ to television:

Comedy Central unveiled its new programming slate today, and it’s pretty standard CC: Dude shows, cartoons, cartoons about dudes, gettin’ high, stand-up stuff. But there was one surprising bright spot: Midwest Teen Sex Show! Holy crap, yay!

Good on ‘em. The show is informative and hilarious, and has also given us the phrase “babies are stupid.”

Here’s their episode on the prom:

Check out this anti-discrimination ad that ran in Australia before being pulled.

It’s so sad that some societies aren’t advanced enough to have a black president.
