  • The Kedarnath temple

    There are 12 Jyotirlingas in India, out of which the highest one is Kedarnath Ji. This temple is around a thousand years old. There is a huge rectangular dais on which large stone slabs have been placed to form the temple. The original temple was built by the Pandavas. But later, it was rebuilt by Adi Shankaracharya.   • Vasuki Tal

    Vasuki Tal is a lake situated at an altitude of 4135 meters. From this lake, you can view the chaukhamba peaks beautifully. This is also a favorite spot for people interested in trekking. While traveling towards this lake, you find Vasuki and Chaturangi glaciers that are again two amazing creations of God that you must not miss.

  • Shankaracharya Samadhi

    Adwaita Philosophy was brought forward by Sri Sankaracharya. And it is he who set up this holy shrine way back in the 8th It is also considered one of the four mathas of Sri Sankaracharya. It is at this place, that this saint attained Nirvana. He was only 32 years of age when he embraced death.

    Saint Agastya meditated in this place for one year. And this temple commemorates this tapas or meditation performed by the saint. The temple looks grand with beautiful architecture and amazing wall art.

  • Sonprayag

    Sonprayag is a small village in Kedarnath perched at a height of 1829 m. Tourists come to Sonprayag and invariably take a holy bath in the waters here. They say, taking a dip in the waters here offers nirvana to devotees.

  • Chandrashila

    This place is located around 3679 m above sea level. Chandrashila is best for people who are interested in skiing and trekking. And these facilities are available around the year, except in the months of December and January. There is a beautiful Shiva temple at the peak of this mountain.
